Street Kids

On this special monthly occasion, the orphanage opens its doors wide to welcome homeless children from the area. It’s a day that’s all about giving them a break from the tough realities they face every day. As they arrive, the children are given a quick search at the entrance—sadly, it’s not unusual for some of these little ones, as young as 8 years old, to carry something for protection. It’s a stark reminder of the challenges they endure.

Once they step inside, though, it’s like entering a whole new world. They’re greeted with warm meals, clean water, and even some sweet treats that bring instant smiles to their faces. There’s also plenty of affection to go around, along with much-needed haircuts to help them feel fresh and cared for. The joy in the air is palpable, and for a few precious hours, these kids get to just be kids.

For us, it was an incredible honor to be part of this day—to contribute in our small way and make a positive impact on their lives, even if just for a moment. The experience was both heartwarming and humbling, a powerful reminder of the resilience and spirit of these children.
